The Resort

Walk the famous boardwalk

With circa 180 acres, Donegal Boardwalk Resort offers great scope for walking on site with immediate access to Trá Mór where some 3km of sandy beach stretches all the way to the local village of Downings. The walk from the holiday villas to the Inner Beach is ideal for a leisurely stroll with some fantastic views. Ards Forest Park and adjoining Capuchin Friary Grounds, just across the bay from the Inner Beach, offers an abundance of walking trails of varying difficulty (most of which are very accessible) with many viewing points, picnic tables and park benches. The park also includes a children’s play area with several secluded sandy beaches, barbeque areas, heritage, nature trails and public toilets.

The Capuchin Friary also hosts a snack and coffee shop;
A little further afield visitors to Donegal Boardwalk Resort can enjoy an abundance of hill walking and mountaineering in the local Derryveagh Mountain Range which includes Mount Errigal and Glenveagh National Park.
